What is HEIC and why can't I open it?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format since iOS 11. It offers better compression than JPEG but is not supported by all software, websites, or older devices. Converting to JPEG or PNG makes the file universally compatible.

Will image quality be affected?

HEIC to JPEG conversion involves some quality trade-off since JPEG is lossy, but at quality 90 the output is visually indistinguishable from the original for most photos. PNG output is lossless.

Can I convert multiple HEIC files at once?

Yes. You can upload and convert up to 20 HEIC files in one batch. If you upload more than one file, the results are bundled into a single ZIP download.

Are Live Photo motion files included?

No. Only the still image frame is converted. The motion video component of Live Photos is not included in the output.
